Mask mandates in schools are causing conflict across the country.

Aug 19 2021

Mask mandates in schools are causing conflict across the country. More kids are returning to the classroom this fall, but with the COVID crisis far from over and the Delta variant causing cases to surge in many places, masks will be required in many schools. But parents are “divided” by these mandates, with parent protests against masks becoming increasingly common, taking over school board meetings and schools. And COVID school protocols are varying wildly by state: While some are issuing vaccine mandates for school staff, others are issuing executive orders to allow parents to opt out of mask mandates. While headlines may show parents protesting mask mandates, YPulse’s new education reports found that 75% of Millennial parents agree that students and teachers should be required to wear masks while in school this fall.
