Popular European dating app Badoo has launched a video series exploring the dating lives of LGBTQ influencers and celebs. Called “A Letter From…”, the series features intimate monologues on “love, lust, hope, loss, companionship, and longing” from the global LGBTQ community in an effort to highlight and destigmatize non-heterosexual dating experiences. A recent Gallup survey found that 5.6% of adults in the U.S. identify as LGBTQ, up from 4.5% in 2017, an increase driven by younger people. In fact, the report found that 15.9% of 18-23-year-olds identify as LGBTQ, more than any other generation, including under 2% of those over 56-years-old. YPulse’s research found that LGBTQ rights is one of the top social causes that young people are passionate about, and Millennials and Gen Z say they want to consume media that is more diverse and inclusive of all races, genders, and sexual expressions.
