Social network Polywork is broadening what Gen Z and Millennial workers want from their jobs. Defined as having multiple jobs at once, polywork is a modern working attitude that allows workers to channel different passions into their primary roles. Now, there’s a social network based on this attitude called Polywork—backed by the co-founders of YouTube, Twitch, PayPal, VSCO, and more—and it’s targeting Gen Z and Millennials who crave the ability to work in multiple roles at once. So instead of only working a traditional 9-to-5, young workers can channel more of their ambitions into Polywork by creating a free personal webpage, explaining what they’re up to professionally and personally, and sending project collaboration requests to other members. In a survey conducted by Polywork which polled 1,000 workers ages 21-40-years-old only 35% say they can see themselves sticking with one job the rest of their life—and YPulse’s employment and career goals research found that 78% of Gen Z considers having a job they enjoy doing very important to their career.
