Gen Z and Millennials in the U.K. are feeling optimistic about the future of work. According to research from LinkedIn, 32% of workers have reassessed what they desire in a job because of the pandemic, and 48% of workers say they are ready to reprioritize their careers following a stressful work period during the pandemic. Young peoples’ jobs have been hit hard throughout COVID-19 in the U.K., with 11% of Gen Z losing their jobs compared to 4% of Millennials. Now, 74% of 16-24-year-olds feel confident about their job prospects, and LinkedIn notes titles for assistant, delivery driver, software engineer, project manager, and business analyst are the most in-demand on its platform. YPulse’s most recent employment and career goals data shows that in the U.S. young peoples’ employment has been on the upswing, and 78% of unemployed Millennials looking for work are confident they will find a job in the next six months.
