Netflix is launching an ecommerce site to sell limited-edition merchandise based on its shows. The streaming platform has become a cultural trendsetter the last few years, and the popularity of their shows can spark sales of related products across industries. While Netflix has teamed up with Target and H&M for merch in the past, the streaming giant is now creating Netflix.shop, its own ecommerce platform to own their lines, and revenue, completely. Streetwear and action figures based on the anime series Yasuke and Eden will be part of the shop’s debut collection, along with items inspired by Lupin. Anime-inspired collectibles from designers, and products based on Stranger Things and The Witcher will also be available in the coming months. (Marketing Dive)
