Millennials suddenly want pickup trucks. YPulse’s Driving Forward report found that 21% of 18-39-years have become more interested in buying a car because of COVID, and for some that means a pickup. According to a CarGurus.com survey, pickup truck buyers are “24% more likely to be Gen Z or Millennials compared to previous truck owners,” and their decision seems to be influenced by the pandemic. Forty percent say they decided on a pickup specifically for road trips compared with 31% of older buyers. Almost a quarter (24%) of Gen Z and Millennials who purchased trucks report stimulus funds were a factor in their purchase decision since the aid helped them “swing the big sticker prices on pickups.” (Forbes)
