Diverse Gen Z voters are expected to lead the election. Pew Research Center reported that most eligible voters who are 18-23-years-old are “a more racially and ethnically diverse group than older generations.” And according to a Barnes & Noble Education Inc. report, a “significant majority” of college students are registered to vote or are planning to register. From those already or soon to be registered, 94% say they intend to vote in the upcoming election and reported that the pandemic and Black Lives Matter movement have “inspired them to become more politically active.” Similarly, YPulse found that racism is the biggest problem Gen Z believes they face today and our Not Waiting for the World to Change report found that 54% of 13-39-year-olds agree that Black Lives Matter has impacted who they’ll vote for in the election.
