Gen Z and Millennials are eager to go out again post-quarantine, but with some caution. According to a poll from TruePublic, young consumers are more likely to gather in smaller groups close to home when quarantine is lifted, and are more reluctant to immediately travel or attend events with large crowds. The report found that 55% of 16-35-year-olds will return to restaurants “as soon as isolation ends” compared to 16% who plan to wait it out just a few more months longer—and 13% who are waiting for a vaccine to be developed. Eating out was the activity most respondents were willing to resume right away—while most would wait a while before returning to movie theaters, travel, gyms, concerts, sporting events, or festivals like Coachella, Comic Con, and Burning Man. Despite their caution, YPulse found that more than half of Gen Z and Millennials are looking forward to attending large events after social distancing is over. (CNBC, NBC News)
