Women are reselling clothes (and starting friendships) in Facebook and Instagram groups. Reselling and buying secondhand clothing is a popular trend with young shoppers—and it’s not just happening on popular resale apps. Groups devoted to reselling items from indie brands like Pyne & Smith, Elizabeth Suzann, and Ace & Jig are becoming increasingly popular on social platforms, as “part social club and part marketplace” clubs. Many members are Millennial moms, who are sometimes posting content daily. Ethical fashion is one draw, but finding “like-minded” friends who have similar tastes is keeping members engaged.
