As the streaming wars heat up, Netflix, HBO, and cable giants are trying to make password sharing harder. These companies could be losing billions in revenue every year to password cheats, and now a coalition of entertainment’s biggest brands is considering tactics like periodic password changes, text verification, and even thumbprint access to cut back on freeloaders. This could become a problem for Gen Z and Millennials, with YPulse research showing 42% of 13-37-year-olds use someone else’s password for streaming services. (Bloomberg)
