YouTube is ridding kids’ content of targeted ads. Concern has been growing about how kids are interacting with YouTube, from viewing questionable content that slips through the cracks to having their data handed over to advertisers. But it was an official FTC complaint about the latter that spurred action from the platform, which reportedly plans to disable targeted ads on videos meant for kids. Though they could lose an estimated $10 million from the change, the move is far less drastic than complainants actually asked for. (Bloomberg)
