Four Loko is eyeing White Claw’s cult status, launching a hard seltzer of their own. The spiked sparkling water category has been booming, and the beverage known for its black out-inducing alcoholic energy drinks doesn’t want to miss out. In a tweet that follows up @sarahndipity18’s, “La Croix walked so White Claw could run,” Four Loko paired a picture of their new beverage with the caption, “Hard Seltzers ran so Four Loko could fly.” But true to their beginnings, this drink isn’t meant for moderate drinking Millennials: it has a 14% ABV, nearly triple White Claw’s 5%.
