Ikea is bringing their catalogs to social media for a more shoppable digital experience. Ikea is known for their thick catalogs, and now they’ve created a Pinterest version of the tome to reach a “prime” DIY audience. The social experience starts with a questionnaire to pinpoint (sorry) exactly what users are interested in; then an automated board is created based on responses—with all pins linked to products pages on Ikea’s site, of course. According to the brand, they “sought out something different” after “running out of ways to show the catalog to people online.” (Modern Retail)
