PlayStation is turning their video games into TV shows and movies to take over more of teens’ time. Sony’s PlayStation Productions is mining over 25 years-worth of video games to create multi-touchpoint media properties that fans can engage with beyond the game. One chairman explains, “When fans beat a 40-50 hour game and have to wait three-four years for a sequel, we want to give them places they can go and still have more of that experience and see the characters they love.” (THR)
