The Christmas tree industry was booming this year, thanks to Millennials. Compared to 2017, 10% more real trees were sold this season, according to payment company Square Inc. One tree-selling chain owner is calling 2018 “the best year [they]’ve ever had,” while a National Christmas Tree Association exec explains that “Our members are saying every day that they’re getting more of these younger families.” One reason Millennials could be buying real trees is their penchant for authentic experiences.
