Beverage brands are vying to be “the LaCroix of cannabis.” Some “cannapreneurs” are capitalizing on CBD, a chemical that won’t give drinkers a buzz. The founder of Recess thinks their infused sparkling water could become “the next kombucha.” Others, like Mood, are banking on marijuana legalization, creating drinks that contain THC (the part of the plant that gets users high). Both beverages come in Instagrammable cans and appeal to the wellness market with a promise of altering drinkers’ moods and becoming a healthy alternative to alcohol or coffee. (Fast Company)
