Virtual reality may not feel like a big deal yet, but PwC predicts that headset ownership could rival the number of current Netflix subscribers by 2022. Out of all media and entertainment, they’re betting virtual reality will have the fastest-rising revenue, growing 40% over the next five years. Games and online video will account for most of the VR market in 2022, but there’s a “particularly promising” future for televised sports, which have been slow to adapt to changing media so far.
