Forty-five percent of teens say they are online “almost constantly,” up from 24% just three years ago. Pew Research’s survey found that an additional 44% of 13-17-year-olds are online several times a day, with only 11% logging in less often. They’re spending the most time on YouTube, Instagram, and Snapchat, while reported Facebook use dropped 20% since 2015. The upswing in time online is surely related to the finding that 95% have a smartphone—it’s no wonder digital detoxing is trending. (Recode, TechCrunch)
