Amazon Prime’s streaming service isn’t stacking up against the competition. Recently released numbers show that only 26 million U.S. Prime members used the service by early 2017; meanwhile, Netflix (which has a hold on Millennials) reeled in double the viewers in the first quarter of the same year. Netflix’s move away from critically-acclaimed content and towards more mainstream hits (like a The Lord of the Ringsprequel) shows they’re trying to lure in the Post-TV Gen and up their numbers.
