Parents are procrastinating back-school-shopping. They’ve only completed 45%, 7% less than the same time last year and the lowest level in five years—according to the National Retail Federation. And they’re not just slacking on getting kids a fresh first day outfit: 79% still needed to buy basic supplies. They might be banking on expedited shipping though, since e-commerce site traffic is up 15% this year. In less surprising news, only 12% of college students have completed their shopping. Ypulse data shows 51% wait until school has started to stock up. (MediaPost)
