L’Oreal is taking their tech to the next level, expanding augmented reality try-and-buy with YouCam. The Gen Z and Millennial female favorite has been “visibly” upping the ante to reach digital consumers, offering brushes that assess hair health and custom-blended foundation via a skin scan, not to mention aggressive moves into AR. They went all in on social by introducing the first Snapchat makeup lens and then released their own AR makeup app. Pairing up with YouCam will expand their reach and bolster their e-commerce efforts—which reportedly grew in sales by 27% year over year.
