Apple’s new app is iMovie for the social media generation. Clips is not—as many speculated—intended to replace popular social networks, but instead to create content for the platforms as a video editing tool. The result is a next-gen mobile iMovie, that’s more about “adding cool filters and text than “dissolves and transitions.” Its “big differentiator” from other video editors is its Live Titles feature, which automatically turns users’ narration into text (like subtitles) and audio. The tool is inspired by the fact that many online videos today are viewed without sound on. (The Verge)
