Netflix is getting into the toy business. The streaming giant is on a hunt for an executive to manage licensing of shows for books, comics and toys, and cultivate partnerships with retailers, according to a job posting on their site. The brand has already dipped their toes in the water, teaming up with Hot Topic to sell their ‘sci-fi smash’ Stranger Things’ merchandise. The brand is aiming for more revenue, and more awareness: “We want licensed merchandise to help promote our titles so they become part of the zeitgeist for longer periods of time.” (Bloomberg)
