What are the most sought-after experiences for a generation of travel-junkies? Youth travel operator Contiki recently asked 18-25-year-olds from Australia, Canada, the USA, the UK, New Zealand, Europe, South Africa and Asia, and found that bathing in the Blue Lagoon in Iceland is the most desired, followed by seeing the Great Pyramids of Giza, and then walking the Great Wall of China. Over seven in ten respondents said that social experiences are the most valuable, ahead of cultural, culinary, intellectual, adrenaline, and spiritual experiences, and 56% say that learning about new cultures is what most motivates them to travel.
