To Millennials and teens, there’s no such thing as “selling out” anymore. In the ‘90s, Gen Xers aspired to be like their “unshowered, uncompromised, often unemployed slacker” heroes, who followed their passions without the influence of money. But in today’s world, young consumers are more than cool with compromising their principles to the “highest bidder.” Artists like Kanye West have made a habit of selling their talents to the “man” in pursuit of more cash and further creating their brand. With many drowning in student debt and struggling to save, most Millennials dream of a day when a company would buy them out. (Quartz)
