Startups are attracting young consumers with their out-of-the-box innovations and quick turnaround on products and services that directly cater to their needs—and big brands want in. Sephora is the latest brand to create a program to foster startup creators and products. Inspired by the statistic that 85% of venture capital funded startups are created by men, the brand started Accelerate, a program to assist beauty-related companies led by women. Hand-picked participants will recieve loans and a $2,500 grant, as well as “expert guidance and training, one-on-one mentorship from a network of beauty industry leaders, as well as monthly design support.” (Jezebel)
