Sesame Street is gearing up to reach a new generation of kids, and they’re making changes to keep the digital generation’s attention. Episodes are being scaled back to half hour blocks, and only Cookie Monster, Elmo, and Abby will be guaranteed screen time every show to create more “cohesion,” and limit the number of characters. The set has also been remodeled, but those and other changes are being made cautiously so that nostalgic parents will not mind too much. (Chicago Tribune)
