The whiskey industry is crediting Millennials for their “renaissance.” With a desire for authentic and handcrafted products, Millennials are more interested in what granddad use to drink. As put by a whiskey blogger: “Whiskey has become the drink of choice for Millennials for a number of reasons—the resurgence of the cocktail culture, the rise in popularity of craft distilleries and locally produced spirits.” In the last five years, vodka consumption has reportedly dropped while whiskey has seen a 17% spike. According to Ypulse’s November monthly survey, 7% of 21-33-year-olds say whiskey is their favorite alcoholic drink. (NYPost, Food World News)
