The next generation hears over and over that coding and STEM are essential to their futures, and we know that 70% of Millennial parents would rather their child(ren) excel in math and science than the arts—but still not enough schools are teaching computer science. In an effort to find out why, Google surveyed students, parents, principals, and teachers across the U.S. Shockingly, schools don’t think a demand for the subject is there, and “given the tendency to prioritize subjects that are included in required testing, computer science is not a top priority.” (Wired)
