The “most interesting wearable” of the year is a friendship bracelet made for teen girls. Jewelbots are digital bracelets that teach girls to code and are currently raising funds on Kickstarter. Using an app, girls can program their bracelet charms to light up in specific colors when an assigned friend is nearby, and use them to send “haptic messages” to specific friend groups. The bracelets connect via Blutooth, so that girls don’t need their phones to keep communicating. (Wired)
