As more and more Millennials walk down the aisle, more of their peers are attending weddings, and getting married isn’t just expensive for the bride and groom. The costs of attending “have soared” since the recession: American Express’ annual survey found the average cost per guest in 2015 is $673, up 14% from last year, and almost double the cost from 2012. More weddings are taking place than in previous years, and almost 25% of them are destination weddings. Between flights, accommodations, dining, clothes, and gifts, it really adds up, and we found 83% of Millennials agree “weddings have become too expensive.” (MarketWatch)
