The death of the bulky traditional textbook could be fast approaching as many companies shift to digital, but abandoning physical books has its pros and cons. Digital texts and learning software could in the future mean cheaper learning materials and possibly free programs that could adapt to each student’s learning style. However, skeptics say the research bolstering digital texts comes from the publishing companies themselves, and that learning comprehension is actually lower from a screen.
