Where are all the Millennial rock stars? The average age of last night’s Grammy nominees in the four rock categories was roughly 46, and to viewers watching, it might have looked like “rock music is having a senior moment.” While there are plenty of Millennial music stars, like 22-year-old Best New Artist winner Sam Smith, there are clear stylistic and performance differences between young artists and hard rocking vets, some of whom are beginning to retire. This by no means that rock-n-roll is dead. Acts like Jack White and AC/DC are headlining major music festivals this summer, but some are certainly wondering whether there will be any young rockers coming up to fill the ranks. (Mashable)
