Young consumers are increasingly making shopping mobile, and new apps are tapping into social networking platforms and tactics to make the mobile retail experience even more appealing. New app Stylinity, targeting women 18-34-years-old, wants to make fashion selfies shoppable. Users can scan the barcodes of clothes they’re wearing in photos and post images of their looks with a direct link to buy. If followers buy the product posted, the user is rewarded with points that can be redeemed for products or cash. The app currently partners with over 180 retailers, including Nordstrom and Urban Outfitters, who could benefit from the word-of-mouth marketing that Stylinity hopes to provide. (Digiday)
