Target is debuting its first original clothing brand since 2008, and it’s for plus-size women. The new Ava & Viv line will focus on more trend-driven items, and hoping to appeal to all, the brand will be providing new clothing each month that retails between $10 and $79.99. After falling under scrutiny in the past for not including plus sizes in their designer fashion lines, Target has “enlisted a trio of bloggers with major pull among plus-size customers to help launch the line.” One of those bloggers had organized a Target boycott in 2014 over their “dismal plus-sized offerings,” so the move is a clear appeal to a previously unhappy customer group.
