Facebook might not have struck app gold yet, despite multiple attempts, but they are continuing to make moves in the mobile space with their recent purchase of Wit.ai, a startup specializing in voice-activated services, or “natural language-powered apps.” The startup has already built “hundreds of voice-activated apps and devices,” and the acquisition could help Facebook to develop voice features for their existing apps, like Messenger. In a December survey, Ypulse found that 88% of Millennials are using Facebook, but it’s well known that Facebook is losing their grip on younger users. Mobile innovations could be key to appealing to teens and Millennials. (MediaPost)
