Just when you thought Fear Of Missing Out (FOMO) was bad, a new social plague has hit: Fear Of Being Offline (FOBO). Symptoms include smartphone separation anxiety and an insistence on multitasking with a mobile device. According to a new study commissioned by Facebook, globally 72% of 13-24-year-olds say they could not think of leaving home without their phones. At the same time, when asked their favorite place to hang out with friends, 70% said friends’ houses, while 54% said online, so they aren't only interested in communicating digitally.
