The rebooted Star Wars will need Millennials’ fandom to make it a “multi-billion-dollar juggernaut.” The sci-fi stories that Millennials have flocked to, from Avatar to The Hunger Games, tend to “shine a light” on a present problem, rather than being a straightforward tales of good versus evil—which, according to one marketing firm, could mean Star Wars will have to work harder to attract them. However, we would point out that young consumers are raised not only on the media created during their time, but the media of every generation before them as well thanks to streaming, reruns, DVDs, etc., so many are likely already fans.
