Millennials have been told their whole lives that getting into the right school is the key to their success, so it’s no wonder that they’re sending applications to record numbers of colleges. Research has shown that application rates have gone up 70% from 2004 to 2013, while there has only been a 5% increase in high school graduates. But the more students apply, the more difficult it is for schools to figure out how many will enroll. It is “messing up” the process and getting “qualified students rejected.” (Quartz)
