Speaking of content as marketing… Thanks in good part to their successful film, Lego is now the world’s No. 1 toymaker, moving ahead of Mattel. Their great year has “relied heavily on sales related to [The Lego Movie],” which was “complemented” by 17 movie setting box sets and 16 movie-based Lego characters. The movie will get a sequel in 2017, which will likely result in a similar sales surge. (MediaPost)
