The teen birth rate in the U.S. dropped a whopping 10% from 2012 to 2013, falling to another historic low. The chief program officer at the National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy calls the decline a product of, “the magic formula of less sex and more contraception.” However, the new low is still 5.5 times higher than rates in Western Europe, which are in the single digits.
