Teen pregnancy went on the decline in 2011 – and the economy might have played a bigger factor than teen safety. An 8% drop in teenage pregnancies happened in between 2010 and 2011, while the birth rate of 35-39 year-olds rose by three percent – a trend possibly explained by severe differences in income and employment levels.
