The school shooting this week was the 74th since Newtown, so it’s no surprise that trying to figure out ways to protect children in schools is a major topic of cultural conversation. One company has begun selling “bulletproof blankets” that they say will protect children from bullets or falling debris. Widespread use of blankets like these seems unlikely, but speaks to the environment of constant danger awareness that the next generation is being raised in. (Jezebel)
