Robin Williams was not a Millennial, but he was “a Millennial hero.” The generation grew up watching (and rewatching) movies like Aladdin, Mrs. Doubtfire, Dead Poet’s Society, and Hook, and so the actor’s work was “entwined with [their] childhoods” and helped shape the way they view divorce, comedy, and more. The outpouring of grief on social media following Williams’ death signifies their devotion to him, and their continued devotion to the films and content they came of age with. (Time)
