An estimated 10,000 Boomers will turn 65-years-old every day from now until 2030, and their retirement plans to downsize will coincide with the bulk of Millennials purchasing their first homes. Some predict that Boomers may start moving back in with their Millennial kids to lessen financial constraints, and it could benefit both generations when splitting the rent. Currently 18% of the U.S. population lives in a multigenerational household, almost double the amount in 1980, and this number is expected to rise as Boomers and Millennials reverse roles.
