Shuffle wants to be the “TikTok for podcasts.” As young listeners continue to fuel the podcast industry, a new app wants to build a “more dedicated community” around podcasts as well as a way for smaller podcasts to “cut through the masses.” Shuffle allows users to edit audio clips from podcasts, add visual elements, and share on their social channels. Listeners will be able to search for a podcast episode, which is then transcribed through the app. They can highlight the episodes they’re listening to (which are auto tagged in their respective categories of comedy, sports, fiction, business, etc.) by adding gifs, stickers, images, and texts. User-generated tags are also currently being explored and tested. According to co-founder Ada Yeo, she developed the platform after realizing that podcasts “never ever go viral,” and wanted to change that. Ultimately, she sees it as “the TikTok of podcasts.” (Fast Company)
