Tubi’s viewership soars after sports cancellations and a Fox buyout.

Tubi’s viewership soars after sports cancellations and a Fox buyout. Pandemic quarantines resulted in the free streaming service’s biggest user growth yet with a 22% surge—and Fox acquired the service in the midst of the boom. In the same two-week period (after live sports events were cancelled), they have seen a 50% spike in new users. According to the company, growth was large for the age demographics of 13-17-years-old and 18-24-years-old—which is of course attributed to teens and college students being home from school. We found that Coronavirus has already had a major impact on young viewers’ media consumption. (Adweek, The Verge)
