To ramp up sales, online startups are moving their products in-store. While direct-to-consumers brands can grow quickly, many are finding they need an in-store footprint to be profitable. Big retailers like Walmart and Target can bring startups a level of visibility they just can’t find online, and many have been bringing their products in-store and finding success. Online brands Rael, Cora, Native deodorant, and Harry’s have all started selling their products on Target, where Harry’s accounted for about 50% of the store’s razor-handle sales within a few weeks of going on sale there in 2016.
