Teen girls are becoming more lonely, anxious, and depressed in a fast-paced digital world, according to experts. Since 2007, many young girls have “dramatically decreased” time spent outside and with friends, and spend more time alone and on social media. They are also less likely than previous generations to have a driver’s license, job outside the home, or to date. A survey by Pew Research Center reports 36% of girls are extremely anxious every day, and many find themselves overwhelmed by the real world when they leave home for college. (WSJ)
