Spotify is working on a “social listening” feature for playing music with friends, akin to the now-defunct Turntable.fm. By scanning a friend’s QR code, you can create a collaborative playlist and add songs to a real-time queue for everyone scanned in to listen to together. So far, the feature is an employee-only prototype, but if a wider rollout occurs, co-listening could be the next co-viewing (which 62% of teens told us they’re interested in).
